FLoC 2006 Student Travel Support
Note: Application Deadline is June 15, 2006
FLoC has received an NSF grant to provide funds for travel grants of up to $750 for student attendees of FLoC'06. Funds can be requested to cover airfare and lodging (meals and registration fees will not be funded.) We expect to award about 50 grants.
- The application deadline is June 15, 2006, and recipients will be notified by June 30 (the early registration deadline for FLoC'06 is July 10).
- Awardees are required to register to FLoC by the early registration deadline and stay at the conference hotel (Seattle Sheraton).
- Funds will be provided after the conference, upon submission of receipts and a short report detailing the awardee's experience at and benefit from FLoC'06 (these reports will be used to compile a final report to the NSF).
- Awardees are expected to spend half a day during the meeting helping with the on-site registration process.
- Applicants' advisors should send a brief statement certifying the applicants's educational status and describing the financial need and the merit of the applicant.
- Special efforts will be made to bring to FLoC students from under-represented groups.
- Applications must be received by the deadline. Applicants are required to submit via email.
