Main Goal: Industry 4.0 has improved the operational efficiency of the entire manufacturing process by incorporating manifold emerging technologies, however, hi-tech cybercrimes have put the entire legal jurisprudence across world into rethinking about the fundamental principles of law.
Key Features: Industry 4.0 aims to create factories for manufacturing, wherein the manufacturing environment is made intelligent through intelligent systems of production. Industry 4.0 has improved the operational efficiency of the entire manufacturing process by incorporating manifold emerging technologies, including blockchain, cloud computing, internet of things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence. One of the most prominent challenge in Industry 4.0 is emergence of cyber crime. Cyber crime is a buzzword used to encompass all sorts of criminal or malicious activities involving computers, internet, information and communication technology. Post Covid-19 crimes in cyberspace have become a growth industry. As soon as law enforcement has a handle on it, some clever and smart crook elements come up with a whole new angle for the commission of crimes with smart & hi-tech tools. At present, cybercrime is not one type of offense, however, it is in fact a range of offenses that have introduced unresolved challenges in front of judicial mechanism. The interconnected nature of Industry 4.0–driven operations and the pace of digital transformation mean that cyberattacks can have far more extensive effects than ever before, and manufacturers and their supply networks may not be prepared for the risks. These risks are trans-borders and would affect internationally across national boundaries.
