The Romanian Association for Earthquake Engineering, with the support of Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB) and National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP), will organize with commitment and motivation the Third European Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (3ECEES), in 2022 in Bucharest, Romania.
Through Bucharest 3ECEES, we are fully motivated and committed to promote the values of earthquake engineering and seismology for the benefit of human kind, to boost the European cooperation in these fields, to push the frontiers of knowledge and to equip the decision makers and building officials with the roadmap for the years to come aiming at seismic risk reduction and enhanced societal resilience.
We, hereby, declare that we will do our best to make sure that the 3ECEES will be properly organized in 2022 by Romania and will be an outstanding scientific event fully adhering to the highest standards of quality set up by both EAEE and ESC.

EAEE – Call for Contributions Submission for Earthquake Engineering
The 3rd European Earthquake Engineering & Seismology (3ECEES), a joint event of the 17th European Conference on Earthquake Engineering & 38th General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission, will take place in Bucharest, Romania, 4-9 September 2022.Through Bucharest 3ECEES, the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB) and the National Institute for Earth Physics (INFP) are fully motivated and committed to promote the values of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology for the benefit of human kind, to boost the European cooperation in these fields, to push the frontiers of knowledge and to equip the decision makers and building officials with the roadmap for the years to come aiming at seismic risk reduction and enhanced societal resilience. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is inviting you to submit contributions for Earthquake Engineering through the system that will open on January 20th.We are fully committed to provide a creative and stimulating environment for sharing and tackling the most challenging topics of global importance and interest in earthquake engineering.
To this aim, the contributions for Earthquake Engineering will address the following sessions and topics:
- Site Effects and Microzonation Studies
- Engineering Seismology and Strong Ground Motions
- Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering
- Seismic Hazard, Exposure, Fragility and Risk Analyses
- Seismic Analysis and Design of Buildings and Structures
- Seismic Evaluation and Rehabilitation of Buildings and Structure
- Performance Based Design of Buildings and Structures
- Seismic Design Codes
- Lifelines Earthquake Engineering
- Structural Health Monitoring
- Seismic Resilience
- Big Data and Large Research Infrastructures
- Lessons from recent earthquakes
Prospective authors need to submit contributions (ranging from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 10 pages) to be included in the conference proceedings, indicating the session to which their contribution should be assigned. In contributions with multiple authors, one of them should be designated as the presenting author. One person cannot be presenting author for more than two contributions. Each contribution is reviewed by at two reviewers. Authors are required to submit the revised version of the contribution by the deadline specified by the LOC. For questions about submitting contributions in Earthquake Engineering, contact the LOC at papers@3ecees.ro.
