Rickettsiae and rickettsial diseases are a major cause of illness in humans and animals throughout the Asia Pacific region. A wide range of pathogens, including members of the genera Anaplasma, Bartonella, Coxiella, Ehrlichia, Orientia and Rickettsia, are responsible. This conference is of interest to medical doctors, veterinarians, public health professionals, epidemiologists, diagnostic laboratory personnel, entomologists and scientists.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
To submit an abstract please click on the link to the standardised submission form. The required information will include:
- Title of presentation
- Authors (names, institutions/companies, email addresses)
- Type of presentation (oral or poster) and category
- Abstract – maximum 250 words, no figures or tables
The following paper categories are welcome:
- Oral presentations
Oral presentations will normally be 12 minutes in length followed by 3 minutes for questions and answers. Please use standard presentation software in preparing your talk (e.g. PowerPoint, Keynote). There will be a limit of 1 abstract for oral presentation per presenter. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests for oral presentations. However, the scientific committee may assign some oral abstract submissions as poster presentations due to the limited number of slots available for each theme. An email confirmation will be sent on receipt of the submitted abstract.
- Poster presentations
Delegates will put up their accepted posters during the first morning of the meeting and remove them at the close of the conference. Posters should not exceed A0 portrait size (118.9 x 84.1 cm) and text should be easily legible from approximately 1.5 m. Material for putting up posters will be provided (e.g. tacks or Velcro tape). Poster viewing will take place throughout the meeting. An email confirmation will be sent on receipt of the submitted abstract.

The 2nd Asia Pacific Rickettsia Conference will be held from 3-6 November 2019 at the Riveries by Katathani Hotel, a classic contemporary five-star hotel. It is located in the heart of the city center and 20-minutes from Mae Fah Luang - Chiang Rai International Airport.
