Joint CDT Conference on AI for Healthcare (CAI4H) 2024
We are delighted to host the Joint CDT Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare (CAI4H) 2024 in Edinburgh. Edinburgh has a long tradition of medicine dating back to the mid-16th century and continues to build on excellence in the University of Edinburgh Medical School and associated organisations. The conference will take place in the Pentland Suite of the John McIntyre Centre, part of the University of Edinburgh Pollock Halls complex. It will be an in-person event on 20th and 21st May 2024. Evening entertainment on 20th May will be a ceilidh band and dancing.
The aim of the conference is to promote collaborative research in artificial intelligence (AI) in the domains of medicine and healthcare through networking, engagement, and exchanging broad scientific knowledge in AI between the four partner UKRI Centres for Doctoral Training:
- CDT in AI for Medical Diagnosis and Care at the University of Leeds
- CDT in AI for Healthcare at Imperial College London
- CDT in Biomedical AI at the University of Edinburgh
- CDT in AI-enabled Healthcare Systems at University College London
Call for Poster Submissions
The Programme Committee invites CDT students who are in their second, third and fourth years of their PhD studies to submit posters for presentation at the conference. Submissions should focus on work carried out during your PhD research and may contain previously published material.
Research Topics
The conference’s remit is across the breadth of applications of artificial intelligence for healthcare. Posters should highlight the major points of the PhD research and should indicate why the research is important and what contribution it will bring to AI in healthcare.
Submission Format
Students are required to submit a poster presenting their research. We recommend including the following sections in the poster (note that the Programme Committee is flexible on the format depending on the PhD project).
- INTRODUCTION: This should set the scene for the reader and introduce the research/study performed and what problem it is trying to address.
- MATERIALS & METHODS: This should detail the datasets used in your work, algorithms developed, and methodology conducted including any experiments.
- RESULTS: This should present the outcomes of your work.
- DISCUSSION: An explanation of how the results can be interpreted, as well as an outline of future steps.
- CONCLUSION: What is the relevance of the work to the broader AI and medical fields?
- REFERENCES.
- ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Contribution and support should be properly acknowledged, including acknowledgement to patients who have shared their data.
The poster will be in A0 portrait and submitted as a PDF file.
Instructions for Submitting
We will be using EasyChair as a submission and reviewing platform. To submit a poster, authors will need an EasyChair account.
The submission Web page for CAI4H is https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cai4h2024
All submitted posters will be reviewed by PhD students and research staff at the four centres for doctoral training. All submissions will be accepted and presented at the conference. It is expected that the final posters will be improved following feedback from reviewers. Each CDT executive team will nominate oral presentations from their centre.
There will be prizes for the best oral presentation and the best poster.
