The International Conference “Communities and Networks for Territorial Innovation”, organized by the Integrated Program “CeNTER” and by the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences of the University of Aveiro, will be held in digital format and free access, between the 23rd and 25th November 2020. The 5th Conference on Regional and Urban Planning joins this event and for the first time will promote a debate entirely in virtual format
Submission Areas
In order to foster the discussion of relevant topics in the role of “Communities and Networks for Territorial Innovation”, the Organizing Committee encourages the submission of works in the following thematic areas:
- Territorial innovation models
- Territorial cohesion and public policies
- Competitiveness strategies and policies
- Innovating in the territory with networks and communities
- Knowledge management and business innovation
- Digital Mediation in the context of territorial innovation
- Evaluation of the impact of the use of digital technologies in promoting territorial-based innovation
- (In)sustainability of territories
- Well-being, quality of life and human capital
- Tourism in low-density territories
- Proximity democracy and cities
- University, territory and innovation strategies

General Guidelines
Four types of works are invited for submission: abstracts, papers, e-posters and demos .
Abstracts must be submitted for all works.
The deadline for Abstracts submission is the 7th September 2020 (see other important dates ).
All works must be submitted through the online submission area .
The following templates should be used for the submission of works.
In order to ensure their participation in the Conference, authors must ensure compliance with the flow presented:
- Submission of the abstract
- Review and approval of the abstract
- Submission of the article, poster or demo (if applicable)
- Conference registration
- Review and approval of the article, poster or demo (if applicable)
- Submission of the pre-recorded video with the presentation of the work
- Participation in the respective online conference session
All works accepted by the Scientific Committee and presented at the Conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings (with ISBN), to be available short after the Conference (date to be decided). A registered author might have a maximum of five works, being the oral presentations limited to a maximum of two by author.
