With the advent and development of computational intelligence, almost every technological innovation in the present times are being driven by intelligence in one form or the other. Of late, computational intelligence has made its presence felt in every nook and corner of the world, thanks to the rapid exploration of research in this direction. Computational Intelligence is now not limited to only specific computational fields, it has made inroads in signal processing, smart manufacturing, predictive control, robot navigation, smart cities, sensor design to name a few. Keeping in mind the stress laid out by the Government of India on promotion and use of computational intelligence, several efforts are being invested for the same. The proposed Doctoral Symposium is one such attempt in this direction.
The 2021 Third Doctoral Symposium on Intelligence Enabled Research (DoSIER 2021) organized by Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, India is a two-day event to be held at the institute premises during November 12-13, 2021. The symposium aims to provide doctoral students and early career researchers an opportunity to interact with their colleagues working on foundations, techniques, tools, and applications of computational intelligence.
The goals of the symposium are to:
1. Provide the participants independent and constructive feedback on their current research and future research directions.
2. Develop a supportive community of scholars and a spirit of collaborative research.
3. Provide an opportunity for student participants to interact with established researchers and practitioners in relevant fields of research.
4. Opening up the possibility of a closed research forum for mutual exchange of knowledge-base and know-hows.
Submission Guidelines
Each submission consists of two elements:
1. A 8-page paper describing the research work. This paper has to be authored by the student (post-doctoral / doctoral / Masters student pursuing research) and his/her supervisor(s) only. No other author name would figure on the paper. The paper should clearly state:
- The problem to be solved in the thesis (justify why this problem is important and make clear that previous research has not yet solved that problem).
- Research hypothesis (claim).
- The expected contributions of the research undertaken.
- How it is planned to evaluate results and to present credible evidence of results to the community.
- A description of the results achieved so far and further research directions.
2. A letter of recommendation from the supervisor(s) addressed to the Doctoral Symposium Chairs stating clearly that the work submitted is worthy of consideration for publication. The letter of recommendation must include an assessment of the current status of the research indicating the timely relevance of the work. The letter should form the first page of the paper.
