Submission Guidelines
FEMMSS invites researchers to submit 500-700 word abstracts on the topic of Technologies and Feminist Thought (broadly construed) along with a brief author biography.
Successful applicants will be invited to present their work at a 2-day online workshop on June 6th and 7th 2024.
Dr. Tempest M. Henning will give the inaugural Catherine Hundleby Keynote Address at the workshop.
Topics could include (but are not limited to):
- Digital Colonialism
- Automation and exploitation
- Digital social movements
- Microwork and the global gig economy
- Algorithmic bias
- The digital divide
- Gendered technologies
- Gatekeeping access to medical technology
- Technology and carework
- The right to repair
- Counterfeit and knock off technologies and intellectual property
- Precarity and Technology
Abstracts and author bio's due by February 29th 2024. Notification of acceptance will be sent May 4th 2024.
