You are cordially invited to contribute to the first international workshop on Human-Centered Design of Symbiotic Hybrid Intelligence, as part of the HHAI 2022 conference in Amsterdam on June 14th 2022.
As virtual agents and social robots with adaptive and learning capabilities enter our work and leisure environments, new opportunities arise to develop Hybrid (human-AI) Intelligent systems. Both humans and AI-agents learn, adapt, and develop over time, and, consequently, it is a challenge to imagine what these co-evolving HI systems will look like. This workshop brings together researchers who want to explore how to design co-evolving symbiotic HI-systems from a human-centered perspective, thereby using multidisciplinary methods, models and tools. At the workshop, among other things, we will apply storyboards, scenario writing and pattern engineering to identify interesting HI-patterns with accompanying research challenges (to be further processed in a position paper with a research roadmap).
Submission Details
Participants are invited to submit a 4-6 page short paper. We are specifically interested in research that is or can be integrated in a specific use case, and that addresses how AI-technology (e.g. virtual agents, robots or co-bots) and humans (possibly with different roles) interact, learn and evolve as a hybrid intelligent system.
The paper should include:
- A description of the research, including its scientific background or origin
- A vision on how the research will benefit the development and application of hybrid intelligent systems in the chosen use case(s) (e.g. healthcare, education, etc.)
- For each author, please include your current position (e.g. consultant, PhD student, professor, etc.), your field of research (e.g. AI, Design, etc.), and if applicable the domain within which you do most of your research (e.g. healthcare, education, etc.)
Deadline: April 1st, 2022
We ask you to use the paper template of the HHAI conference, which can be obtained from https://www.iospress.com/book-article-instructions.
Accepted papers will be used for discussions during the workshop, and will be distributed among participants in advance. During the workshop, you will be asked to pitch your paper.
Insights developed during the workshop will be elaborated and formulated in a position paper and/or special issue of a journal.
