Extreme climate and weather events induce various extremes such as floods, droughts, heatwaves, and cyclones. The hazards associated with these events and the exposed and vulnerable human and natural systems develop into significant risks. Several scientific findings and reports warn that the frequency and intensity of the climate and weather-related extremes will magnify in the near future, given the concomitant changes in climate and socio-economic dynamics. The International Conference on “Climate and weather-related extremes - New dimensions, Challenges, and Solutions” organized by the Department of Water Resources Development and Management, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee shall gather 150+ leading scientists, faculty members, policymakers, field engineers, research scholars, and students under a common platform to interact and showcase various dimensions related to climate and weather-related extremes, particularly related to floods, droughts, heatwaves, and cyclones.
