Creativity & Culture for Management in a Changing World
MICA-The School of Ideas and Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin presents the 7th International Communication Management Conference (ICMC 2021) on the broad theme "Creativity & Culture for Management in a Changing World."
The future arrived early and caught all of us unguarded and unprepared. As we look ahead, the future seems inexplicably uncertain and has humbled even those holding the most powerful positions, compelling us to reassess, rethink, and realign our lives to the new world order. In the past, humanity had risen against calamities and catastrophes by being ingenious, innovative, and bringing new insightful learnings to rebuild the codes and networks of human existence.
In this evolving environment, industries are adopting new strategies to redefine the contours of business with a digitally enabled and design-driven approach. A deep and hard look at the ways how the consumer context has changed requires sharp cultural decoding as well as the ability to adapt to alternative and creative approaches to standard operating procedures. This conference invites voices, papers, practices and projects of significance that address the symbiotic relationship between creative thinking and cultural strategy, and the impact of these on businesses for the future that is Now!
What role will creativity and cultural strategy play in building our renewed vision for the new world? How can creative thinking unlock perspectives in management, and how can cultural insights help build cutting edge innovation- in products, services, and design?
Additionally, this conference also seeks to highlight the cultural and creative industries - those at the crossroads of arts, culture, design, business and technology - and understand better how these can help shape and inform newer narratives in a changing world.
With industry-led talks, business leaders' panels, and teach-in sessions with experts, the conference platform will serve to gain insights into emerging trends, ideas, practices, and approaches towards building a more equal and empathetic tomorrow. These insights must pave the way towards empowering all stakeholders to contribute to the larger ecosystem, transform society, thereby being the catalyst of social change and transformation.
