Thirteenth IGSC Conference
IGSC’21 provides a forum for presenting and discussing innovative research on a broad range of topics in the fields of sustainable and energy-efficient computing and computing for a more sustainable planet. The conference consists of technical papers, panels, workshops, and a Ph.D. Forum on these topics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Machine Learning: energy-efficient architectures for machine learning (ML) and AI, ML accelerators, software- and system-level techniques for energy-efficient ML/EdgeAI Systems, machine-learning-based power, and thermal management.
High Performance and Cloud Computing: Power- and thermal-aware algorithms, software and hardware level techniques, accelerators, memory and storage systems, interconnection networks, optimized data management, efficient power delivery and cooling, data center organization and optimization, reliability, life-cycle analysis of IT equipment, hardware and software for large-scale data analytics and processing.
Embedded Systems: Internet-of-Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks, energy harvesting, self-sustaining sensing, machine-learning at the edge, cyber-physical systems, secure embedded systems, wearable computing, computing for smart systems, interfacing sensors and actuators, real-time operating systems, scheduling and optimization.
VLSI Design: Low-power electronics and systems, emerging technologies, novel non-volatile memories, memory circuits, ASICs , reconfigurable computing and FPGAs, computer-aided design, thermal-aware circuits, design of sensors and actuators, analog, optical, non-digital circuits.
Computer Architecture: Power-efficient multi/many-core chip designs, approximate computing, non-Turing architectures, power and thermal management, GPGPU architectures, reconfigurable architectures, memory systems, caches, networks-on-chip (NOCs).
Computing for Sustainability: Computational methods for sustainable economy and society, renewable energy models and prediction, matching energy supply and demand, smart grids (macro and micro), smart transportation and electric vehicles, smart buildings and urban computing, smart manufacturing and industrial IoT, climate and ecosystem monitoring, IT solutions for water quality, air pollution, and sustainable agriculture.
In conjunction with the regular IGSC conference program, the aim of these extracurricular workshop sessions is to provide specialized forums for the discussion of the complementary, novel, or timely perspectives in sustainable computing or computational sustainability. The workshops are intended to introduce and discuss new R&D problems, cover specialized topics, or address trends in the technical domains that are of interest to the conference participants. Topics that introduce new directions and paradigms relevant to the IGSC community are highly encouraged. The workshop organizers/leaders may also be speakers in their respective sessions.
Workshops are envisioned to provide in-depth discussions for like-minded researchers interested in specific topics. They are often composed of several sessions in a half-or-full-day setting and may be composed of a combination of the keynote, invited, and peer-reviewed presentations. Student forums will also be conducted in parallel with the IGSC 2021 conference.
Submission Instructions:
The papers need to be submitted to relevant tracks such as topics listed, and student forums. All the papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Full papers should be of length up to 8 single-spaced double-column pages using 10-point size font on 8.5x11 inch pages (IEEE conference style) including figures, tables, and references.
The IEEE templates can be found https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html
