Memetic Algorithms (MAs) are a class of stochastic global search heuristics in which the problem-specific solvers are combined with Meta-heuristics approaches. MAs might be implemented by incorporating heuristics, approximation algorithms, local search techniques, specialized recombination operators, truncated exact methods, etc., in Meta-heuristics algorithms. The performance of MAs is strictly accordance with the amount and quality of the problem knowledge they incorporate. Knowledge incorporation is meant to either to improve the solution quality, or to accelerate the convergence, or to reach solutions that would otherwise be unreachable by evolution or a local method alone. In recent years, many researchers have been focused on the use of Memetic algorithms for Image processing applications. The aim of this edited book is to bring out the original research on innovative and emerging areas of Memetic algorithms for image processing applications.
Submission Guidelines
