The Geological Society of Malaysia is pleased to announce that the National Geoscience Conference (NGC) 2020/2021, 33rd in the annual conference series, will be held as virtual from 05th to 08th April, 2021.
The Conference is a premier geoscientific event in Malaysia and the region, which is well attended by geoscientists from academia as well as the public and private sectors.
NGC 2020/2021 is co-organised with the Mineral and Geoscience Department Malaysia (JMG), Institute of Geology Malaysia (IGM), National University of Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).
Submission & Presentation Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Abstract Guideline
- Abstracts may be written in English or in Bahasa Malaysia.
- Abstracts should be between 300 to 500 words. ABSTRACTS WHICH EXCEED THESE LIMITS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE AUTHOR FOR REVISION.
- The text should NOT be formatted, except for italicizing (for foreign words and species names, for instance), subscripts and superscripts (for the purpose of chemical formula and for denoting author affiliations in the header of the abstract.
- Abstracts must have a title, a list of authors, and a list of author affiliations, addresses of the authors and email of the corresponding author.
- The abstract should be proof-read, and be of an acceptable standard of English (or Malay). Neither the Editor nor the Technical Subcommittee will spend time correcting language or grammatical mistakes.
- Full papers
- Upon receiving the abstract notification of acceptance, FULL PAPER need to be submitted to Geological Society of Malaysia Editorial Publication for review.

- Presentation Guideline
- The abstracts submitted will be reviewed and the category of presentation will be decided by the NGC2020/2021 Technical Publishing Committee.
- There are two types of presentations: oral presentation and poster/infographic presentation.
- Poster/infographic presentation slot: 3 to 10 minutes (include Q & A)
- Oral presentation slot: 10 to 15 minutes (include Q & A).
- The presentation must be presented in the English language.
- You are advised to adhere strictly to the time allocated to avoid upsetting the scientific programme.

Publication
NGC 2020/2021 proceedings will be published in Bulletin of The Geological Society of Malaysia, Warta Geologi or Proceedings of the National Geoscience Conference by Geological Society of Malaysia.
Venue
The conference will be conducted as a virtual conference on 05th and 06th April, 2021. Followed by virtual workshops on 07th and 08th April 2021.
