The Mobilizing Knowledge on Newcomers Symposium 2021 invites proposals for oral and poster presentations on research with newcomers in the areas of resettlement & integration, social & health care, education, and grassroots community engagement. We especially welcome proposals highlighting research that involves collaboration across newcomer Service Provider Organizations (SPOs), Policy Makers, and Researchers. The poster symposium will provide an opportunity for SPOs and researchers — especially staff and graduate students — in the early stages of their projects to showcase their work.
Papers will be given in English or French.
Deadline for abstract submission is August 31, 2021. Notifications of acceptance will be made by September 15, 2021.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts in English or French should be given a descriptive title, be double-spaced, have no more than 250 words (excluding references), and have the following sections: Background, Methods/Approach, Results/Observations, & Conclusion.
The abstract review committee will be making the final decision of the type of presentations.
- Oral presentations (15 minutes presentation and 10 minutes for questions)
- Poster presentations (3 minute presentations and 2 minutes for questions)
Details of the presentation process will be communicated once the abstracts are accepted. Please be sure to indicate whether your presentation will be in English or in French.
