About the Conference
The mother earth is under constant threat of Climate change, it has become the biggest threat to mankind, and due to this the responsibilities of humans to save earth have increased several folds. The agencies like the UN and its allied agencies like UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), The World Food Programme (WFP), are reporting the devastating effects of Humans spoils. As a need of the hour, we need the researchers, academicians, governments, and industries to take up a necessary step to save the planet earth and keep it livable for generations to come. As per the UN report, the number of undernourished people has increased from 777 million to 821 million over the last two years, confirming a worrying reversal of positive trends seen earlier in the new millennium.
Addressing the root causes will be as critical to achieving ZERO HUNGER by 2030. The Food Security, Sustainable Urban Development, Resource Conservations are going to be vital for saving the environment and humans.
The utilization of facilities and infrastructure that save energy, energy conservation; the efforts to find renewable energy sources, the accessible green buildings to the sun and the many plants / trees inherent in buildings, the adaptation to the global warming reduction or the policy to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions, and so forth; should be a good concern and sustainable in the future.
So from the platform of SURF-19, a first carbon neutral conference, we call every responsible researchers, academicians, organization, and government to contribute their original research papers and studies to create a better livable world for tomorrow, for us and our generations to come.
You are cordially invited to participate in the conference SURF-19 which will be held at Bearys Knowledge Campus, Innoli, Mangalore, Karnataka, India, April 26-27, 2019.
About Bearys Knowledge Campus
The Bearys Knowledge Campus, founded by the Bearys Group, consists of three institutions namely Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Bearys Enviro-Architecture Design School (BEADS) and BIT Polytecnic. The campus reflects the sustainable green vision of the Bearys Group and introduces a futuristic concept of learning where nature and nurture come together to inspire young minds to become proponents of sustainable architecture and environmentally-conscious leaders of the global world.
BIT is affiliated to VTU, Belagavi and offers UG, PG and Doctoral programs. We believe that our location and strong environmental orientation, coupled with rigorous academic program, make BIT a college with a difference offering excellent scope for pursuing higher education. The college has signed MoU with research organizations, reputed industries and International universities to promote close interaction in areas of recent technologies, Research & Development, and skill development programs. Leveraging the extensive Bearys network and the experience of our faculty, we give our students a local-global perspective as well as excellent exposure to industry-academia interaction.
BEADS is a progressive School of Architecture, with its overarching mission of environmental consciousness embedded in the name of the institution. The school seeks to sensitize and equip future architectural design professionals to meet the serious challenges of Sustainable Development and fulfill their roles as responsible practitioners of Green Architecture. In line with this goal, BEADS engages faculty, industry experts and researchers from various parts of the world, who provide insight into diverse design approaches and challenges, to inspire students and keep them abreast of best practices in Sustainable Development and Design.
