Submission deadline | July 17, 2020 |
The three dimensional structure and function of molecules present many challenges and opportunities for developing an understanding of biological systems. With the increasing availability of molecular structures and the advancing accuracy of structure predictions and molecular simulations, the space for algorithmic advancement on many analytical and predictive problems is both broad and deep. To support this field, this workshop aims to provide a forum for discussing cutting edge computational results in computational structural bioinformatics.
NSF Funding for student registration
Thanks to generous NSF support, funding has been received to reimburse full workshop and conference registration fees for up to 15 student authors in CSBW.
List of Topics
- Structure representation, prediction, and alignment
- Interaction and docking
- Molecular simulations
- Coarse grained modeling
- Biomolecular graphics
- Data mining
- Structural genomics, and optimization in structural problems
- High performance computing in modeling
- Graph theory applied to structural problems
- Structure-based drug design and QSAR
Submission Guidelines
All full papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following three submission categories are welcome:
- Full papers, 10 page maximum
- Posters, 2 page extened abstracts, or submitted as short papers (6 pages)
- Works in progress, 10 page maximum, in modeling the structure, function, and mutations of the covid-19 proteome. Works in progress manuscripts should include an expected results section, or an explanation of the outcomes to be produced in the near future.
All submissions must use the ACM sigconf template (http://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template).
Accepted full papers, works in progresss, and poster abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings and made available in the ACM digital library.
Proceedings, ACM Digital Library, Journal Special Issue
CSBW20 manuscripts will be published in the ACM-BCB 2020 conference proceedings, and made available in the ACM digital library.
Authors of select manuscripts presented at the workshop will be invited to submit extensions of their work to a special issue of a journal. In past years, special issues of CSBW have appeared in the Journal of Computational Biology (Impact Factor 1.1), Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and most recently in Molecules (Impact Factor 3.0).
Venue
The workshop will be conducted virtually, just as the parent conference ACM-BCB 2020.
