Call for Papers
expat’23 is the 6th face to face event of the conference series exp.at’xx. The conference will be held at the University of Évora, Évora, Portugal, on June 5-7, 2023, and it is a joint organization of University of Porto and University of Coimbra with the collaboration of University of Évora. The conference will feature the technical support of IEEE (IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and IEEE Education Society) and the Portuguese Engineers Association.
expat’23 will run for three days and a post-conference technical day on June 8, providing a fo-rum of discussion and collaboration between academics, researchers and industry and medicine professionals, trying to bridge the gap between academic applications and the real world needs and experiences. It offers to the participants an opportunity to present their recent work and to take part in technical sessions, workshops, exhibition sessions (Demos’23), discussion tables and thematic visits in the UNESCO World Herit-age city of Évora (https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/361), European Capital of Culture in 2027.
Prospective authors are encouraged to submit full papers (4-6 pages), and extended abstracts (demos with 2 pages), in English and in pdf format, following instructions accessible on the conference webpage (https://expat.org.pt/expat23/calls/). The articles and extended abstracts (demos) will be under double blind peer review process.
Accepted papers and demos will be published in electronic format and will be submit-ted for acceptance into the IEEE Xplore® paper database. IEEE Xplore® will index ac-cepted papers and demos meeting IEEE requirements of content and format. The con-ference will promote the organization of special issues in international indexed journals (e.g., Information, https://www.mdpi.com/journal/information) for extended versions of selected papers, with APC discount for publication in Open Access format.
