The Norwegian University of Science and Technology warmly welcomes you to the 44th Information Systems Research Seminar (IRIS) in Scandinavia and the 12th Scandinavian Conference on Information Systems (SCIS) which will take place in Orkanger, Norway in August 2021. Both events will be held in conjunction and share programme, venue, social events and keynotes. Attendees register for participation in both IRIS44 and SCIS12. While most participants are from the Nordic countries, we welcome researchers from all parts of the world to bring along other perspectives into the discussion.
We aim to have the conference in-person, however, the current situation makes it hard to predict if we can welcome you all physically in Orkanger. Both IRIS44 and SCIS12 will take place, the detailed modalities will be communicated closer to the actual conference (in-person, hybrid or virtual).
Submission Guidelines
Infomration about IRIS44 and its format:
We welcome empirical as well as theoretical or methodological papers. Papers must be related to the conference theme as well as other areas of IS research. Since the aim of IRIS is to provide feedback and spark discussion in the working groups, the types of papers that can be submitted to IRIS are more varied. Authors are invited to submit research-in-progress, exploratory, or complete research papers they would like to discuss with other academics. Papers submitted to IRIS will undergo a round of review to ensure they are within the scope of the conference or the IS field and they comply with minimum academic standards.
- The conference is organised around working groups.
- Authors do not give a full presentation of their papers in the group. Group members are expected to read each other's papers in advance. The time at the conference is reserved for feedback and group discussions.
- Every submitting author is automatically assigned 2-3 papers to review.
- The best papers will be selected and published in the IRIS best papers series, published by the AIS. However, the authors are not obligeated to include them in that proceedings.
- IRIS is not limited to researchers from the Nordic countries: researchers around the world are welcome to attend!
Language: English (including American, British, Canadian, etc.) is the language of all submissions.
Originality: Submissions to IRIS44 must be original; submissions cannot have been published or accepted in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Further, submissions must not be concurrently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.
