This book presents recent advances in renewable energy scenarios for future Indian smart cities including technologies and devices at the scales of both experimental and theoretical models for Industry 4.0, the concept of automated and computerized industrial manufacturing and practices. The current Indian economy is inclined towards smart urban cities, but the energy deficit in modern society is not well recognized. As a result, there is an enormous need to explore alternative avenues of energy for future smart cities. Because such cities depend significantly on technologies and devices that comprise Industry 4.0, the synthesis of energy scenarios enables an understanding of the technology, applications, and devices that contribute immensely to the textile, construction, cosmetics, biomedical and environmental industries, among others. These industrial areas are the key starting points for a wide range of applications, consequently becoming top priorities for science and technology policy development. Such advances already have been adopted in various contemporary services and products, especially in the fields of electronics, healthcare, chemicals, cosmetics, composites, and energy. This book is a valuable resource for practicing energy planners, citizens, and professionals such as business people, bureaucrats from all levels of government, employees from nongovernmental public organizations and their volunteers, and other individuals who have stakes in the development of their city region.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions can be made in one of the following two categories: (1) regular papers (2) tool and benchmark papers. The primary focus of “regular papers” (submission length: 15-20 pages, excluding references) should be to describe new research ideas supported by experimental implementation and evaluation of the proposed research ideas. The primary focus of “tool and benchmarks papers” should be to describe the design, development, and evaluation of new tools/techniques and methods. Submissions in the “regular papers” category are also encouraged.
The submissions in both categories will be evaluated to the same standards in terms of novelty, scientific value, demonstrated usefulness, and potential impact on the field. The nature of the contribution differs between the two categories (new research idea vs. new tool/ techniques) and papers will be evaluated based on the intended nature of the contribution, as declared by the chosen paper category at the time of the submission. The chosen category at the time of the submission cannot be changed after the submission deadline.
The following paper categories are welcome:
- Long papers (15-20 pages + 2-page references, single column): Long papers should present original research work and be no longer than sixteen pages in total: fourteen pages for the main text of the paper (including all figures but excluding references), and two additional pages for references.
- Short papers (7-10 pages + 1-page reference, single column): Short papers may report on works in progress, descriptions of available datasets, as well as data collection efforts. Short paper submissions should be no longer than nine pages in total: eight pages for the main text of the paper (including all figures but excluding references), and one additional page for references.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome (but not limited to):
- Technical Design Papers
- Scientific Evaluation Papers/Systematic Review
- Case reports
- Analysis
- Vision Papers
Double-blind submission guidelines apply to the submissions in both categories. All chapters must be original (and Unpublished) and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference or book. The following chapter categories are welcome:
- Full chapters require at least 15-20 pages (minimum).
- Survey articles will be considered. SLR is accepted.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- 1–2 page Abstracts
- 15+ page Research Papers
Papers must be written in English and can be up to 15 to 20 pages in length (including references).

Review Process
All manuscripts will be reviewed by the panel of reviewers and evaluated on originality, the relevance of the problem to the conference theme, technical strength, rigor in analysis, quality of results, and organization and clarity of presentation of the paper. Authors are highly encouraged to list the key contributions of their paper, for example in a separate paragraph in the introduction of the paper. The review process is “single-blind” (i.e., authors can list their names on the paper), and that there will be a rebuttal period.
The initial decision for the submission may be Accept, Reject or Revise. Papers that are recommended for revision will have to address the comments from the reviewers and submit a revised article along with a summary of changes. This will go through a light review and the final decision will be communicated.
Publication
It covers major technological advancements in, and evolving applications of, thermal and photovoltaic energy systems. Advances in technologies for harnessing energy are extensively discussed, with topics including the fabrication, compaction, and optimization of energy grids, solar cells, and panels. Leading international experts discuss the applications, challenges, and future prospects of research in this increasingly vital field, providing a valuable resource for all researchers working in this field. This comprehensive description and discussion of photovoltaics (PV) are presented at a level that makes it accessible to the interested academic. Starting with a historical overview, the text outlines the relevance of photovoltaics today and in the future. Then follows an introduction to the physical background of solar cells and the most important materials and technologies, with particular emphasis placed on future developments and prospects. The book goes beyond technology with all aspects of solar energy systems. The fundamentals of predicting availability; economic appraisal strategies; specific collector sub-systems, including a proven analytical procedure for predicting performance; and analyses of solar energy systems in depth. Researchers and technologists need to have an insight into the implementation of the challenges entails, and this book presents practical constraints, operational considerations, and the latest research results. The book should be of great interest to students as well as professionals undertaking feasibility studies, development and implementation, technical assistance, and training assignments. Political action and pressure groups will also find the text useful for developing energy policies.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Prospective authors are invited to submit original and previously unpublished papers through the easy chair research management system. After the conference and presentation, all accepted and presented will be selected by the Committee for suitable publication based on the originality, paper quality, and conference notes by the audience and reviewers. Publication opportunities for high-quality manuscript contribution are including Key Energy System, Scopus indexed Series, and other journal partners (indexed by Crossref, Google Scholars, and Index Copernicus).
All book chapters will be published by Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd., 152 Beach Road, #21-01/04 Gateway East, Singapore 189721, Singapore
