SIGUCCS is built on the strengths and talents of our members, and we want YOU to present at our 2024 conference!
The SIGUCCS annual conference brings together directors, managers, support personnel, and IT professionals of all types from the higher education community. The community shares past, present, and future plans to support new technologies, bring together new techniques, ideas, and insights, and share important reflections. Discussing and reflecting with peers is a great way to generate ideas and solutions that can be carried home to improve the services and experiences provided at institutions around the world.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Abstracts for all formats listed below will be published in the ACM Digital Library, which is a great way to build up your LinkedIn profile! Abstracts should be 200-500 words in length. We also encourage you to submit a 2-6 page paper in the ACM format. Experienced peer review editors are available to assist you in the publication process. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Presentation – standard presentation format with opportunity for question and answer. A full paper is optional.
- Panel – presenters from more than one school offer insights and lead discussion around a specific topic of interest. A full paper is optional.
- Poster – authors present their topics in poster format and gather in an open forum to answer questions in a one-on-one setting.
- Lightning Talk – This is a form of group presentation where each member of a small group (4-5) is allocated 7 minutes to make a concise presentation on a specific, yet unrelated, topic. Two minutes of Q&A follows each presenter with an additional 15 minutes for questions directed to any presenters in the group at the end of the session. This is an opportunity for new attendees to take the first step to participate in a professional conference and gain valuable experience presenting as well as an option for seasoned attendees presenting at the conference to share quick tips and useful information without compiling a second paper.
