Call for WSDM Day Talks 2024
WSDM (pronounced “wisdom”) is one of the premier conferences on web-inspired research involving search and data mining. The 17th ACM International WSDM Conference will take place in Mérida, Mexico (in-person conference with virtual elements), from March 4 to March 8, 2024.
The WSDM 2024 Day will be held at the WSDM conference on March 8, 2024. This year, the aim is to discuss the “State of Data Mining & Web Search in LATAM.” The objectives of the WSDM Day are:
- To promote WSDM-aligned topics of relevance to the host region.
- To get the participation of relevant parties, e.g., Academia, Industry, and Government in LATAM.
The organizing committee invites submissions for talk proposals on topics aligned with those set forth in the call for papers of the main conference, focusing on issues relevant to LATAM. The talk proposals would be peer-reviewed, and the accepted proposals would be presented during the WSDM Day.
Submission Guidelines
Manuscripts (up to 2 pages) must be submitted in PDF, including:
- Description of the topics to be presented during the WSDM Day. Elaborate on the significance of the problem (whether it is of academic, social, or industrial relevance).
- Short biographical sketch for each author.
- References.

https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template
by ACM.
Venue
WSDM 2024 is planned to be an in-person conference (at Yucatan Center Mérida Yucatán, Mexico) with virtual elements. At least one author of each accepted presentation needs to register and present the work at the WSDM Day 2024 (March 8, 2024). The general expectation is that the talk will be delivered in person. Compelling virtual talk proposals would be considered only on an exceptional basis.
The presentation format will be decided based on submissions and interest to the wider community and is likely to be a mix of oral presentations as well as panels.
