Abstract

There are no specific recommendations for calculating damaged elements in the regulatory documents. Therefore, it is necessary to improve and create new methods for calculating the bearing capacity of damaged reinforced concrete elements, that is, calculating their residual strength, on the basis of which one or another reinforcement scheme is adopted. Also, the restoration of reinforced columns using carbon fiber materials is an important rehabilitation process. The article presents a nonlinear analysis of damaged reinforced concrete columns repaired with a carbon fiber shell. The study includes a description of the model adopted in the analysis using the finite element method FEM using ABAQUS, which includes the selection of appropriate elements for modeling and the determination of material properties, taking into account material nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity. And then the connection of the reinforcement and the carbon fiber jacket with the concrete material. And assignment of boundary conditions and loads. Finally, the calculation of the resulting model; and analyzing the results of computer simulations to determine the remaining bearing capacity after damage and the new bearing capacity after restoration.
