Abstract

Studying the history of cities and the reasons for their formation and development helps to understand their current situation and find out the reasons for their successes and failures in many areas. Damascus, the capital of Syria, is one of the oldest densely populated cities in the world. There were many civilizations in the city of Damascus, each of which influenced the planning and development of the city. This article analyzes the beginning of the formation of the city of Damascus and the natural factors that influenced its formation and expansion.
