Hardware laboratory for the development of career guidance in the Computer Science Engineering career: a CTS perspective

Abstract

In the present work the elements that from the CTS (Science-Technology-Society) approach, are significant for the development of the vocational orientation towards the Engineering course in Computer Science are shown. The topic acquires relevance for the University of Information Sciences (UCI) in a context in which the country is committed to a process of Computerization of the Society, in which the University has a high responsibility in accordance with the object of the profession of its graduated In this context, shortcomings were identified in the treatment of vocational orientation of students that influence their motivation for careers of this profile. For this reason, a hardware laboratory is designed as an extension project as a methodological alternative for the treatment of vocational guidance in the members of the intra and extra-university community and the development of skills for the formation of the professional model demanded by cuban society.
