Critical factors for measuring the economic and social impact of cooperatives in Colombia

Abstract

This paper is presented for the 7th CIRIEC International Research Conference on Social Economy Social and Solidarity Economy: Moving Towards a New Economic System, within the framework of thematic axis number 5 entitled: Dimensions of the social and solidarity economy sector - statistics of the social economy.

This paper includes the work carried out by the principal investigator in the Institute of Public Ministry Studies in the research called: "Measurement of the socio-economic impact of the cooperatives: proposal for its calculation"; in the Research Center of Cooperatives in the construction of the System of National Accounts for Colombia. It also includes the progress of ongoing research carried out at the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia in the project entitled: "Design of a system of indicators for the interpretation of the measurement of the economic and social impact of credit unions In Colombia"

It was necessary to use observation techniques to determine the main sources of information and their quality, to find the current state of the information and to establish critical factors for measuring the economic and social impact of cooperativism in Colombia
