Resolution of mixed-variables problems in LocalSolver

Abstract

LocalSolver is a model-and-run mathematical optimization solver combining different operations research techniques. We study the resolution of mixed-variables optimization problems. Those problems are the ones which use products of combinatorial and continuous variables. We implemented a method that combines a local search approach to modify the combinatorial variables and the simplex algorithm to resolve the continuous sub-problems.
