Abstract

The objective of this article is to briefly characterize the training of Army Officers, in the period 1837-1926, with a description of the evolution of military education, from the first Classes created in 1640, through the establishments that preceded and influenced the creation of the School Army. Next, the various reforms and organizations of this establishment in the period 1837-1926. This work seeks to complete the preliminary works carried out by Antunes (1886), Constante (1959), Magalhães (1891), Sampaio (1991), Sena (1922), Simões (1892).
