Graphic Interpretation Proposal for the ABET Accreditation Actions

Abstract

The Accreditation Policies and the Procedures Manual, together with the accreditation criteria, constitute the normative framework to which every educational institution that aims to accredit its engineering programs with ABET is subject.

  The clarity of the rules that will govern the evaluation are essential for the programs that aspire to successfully pass the evaluation for accreditation purposes. In this sense, accreditation committees should carry out their work free of any doubt that prevents real comprehension at all stages of the evaluation.

For this reason, it is proposed to use a flow chart as a graphic aid to facilitate the understanding of the evaluation process.
