Influence of Different Types of Seals to the Sound Insulation of the Doors

Abstract

In modern construction practice, it is interesting that in recent years there has been a tendency to eliminate the classic fixed seal and use the so-called. drop down seal in door design. Lately architects in most cases design the entrance door to hotel rooms without a fixed seal, for aesthetic reasons, but primarily due to the fact that a fixed seal interferes with the daily use of luggage with wheels when entering and leaving the hotel room. The paper presents the results of a series of laboratory measurements of airborne sound insulation of one type of entrance door with variations of fixed seal and drop down seals. The tests were performed in accordance with a series of standards for laboratory tests of airborne sound insulation SRPS EN ISO 10140.
