ABSTRACT. A new breed of legal tech providers and technology savvy lawyers have added strain to the German judicial system by initiating a large number of similar cases for claims concerning, among others, delayed flights and cars affected by the "Dieselgate" scandal. Besides spurning a number of procedural changes, this has contributed to the adoption of AI in the judicial sector, as new tools are emerging to ease the workload for judges, clerks and prosecutors.
