Abstract

With the proliferation of cloud computing and the exponential growth of interconnected devices, ensuring robust cloud security has become paramount. This paper explores the evolving landscape of cloud security in the context of an increasingly connected world, where data flows seamlessly between devices, networks, and cloud platforms. We examine the key challenges and vulnerabilities associated with cloud computing, including data breaches, unauthorized access, and compliance issues. Furthermore, we delve into the crucial role of encryption, authentication mechanisms, and access controls in safeguarding sensitive data stored in the cloud. Additionally, we discuss the importance of implementing robust security protocols and best practices to mitigate risks associated with cloud services, such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Moreover, this paper addresses the legal and regulatory considerations surrounding cloud security, including data sovereignty, privacy regulations, and international data transfer laws. We explore the implications of frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) on cloud service providers and their clients.
