Abstract

This paper explores the principles, challenges, and best practices associated with SSCM. The concept of sustainability in supply chain management encompasses a holistic approach that considers the environmental impacts of sourcing, production, transportation, and distribution processes. It also addresses social responsibility by promoting fair labor practices, ethical sourcing, and community engagement. Furthermore, economic sustainability is achieved through cost-effective operations, risk mitigation, and long-term profitability. Despite its undeniable importance, implementing SSCM poses significant challenges. These challenges include aligning stakeholders' interests, managing complex supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overcoming barriers to adopting sustainable practices.
