Helmet Detection System

Abstract

In India the two wheeler is one of the most used mode of transportation, because it is affordable and available for daily use. It is highly advisable for bike-riders to wear a safety helmet to reduce the risk of head injury caused by road accidents, the government has also made it mandatory. The violation of these rules contribute to the rise in number of deaths, and to solve this we propose an automatic detection of bike riders without helmets from surveillance footage. This system aims to help the law enforcement, using neural networks for classification and recognition, capable of multi box detection. It also has an added license plate detector to send immediate penalty to the violators.
