Abstract

Stroke causes interference with autonomy in carrying out daily activities as well as problems with interpersonal relations. Autonomous disorders that occur in stroke patients require rehabilitation to improve their motoric, verbal, and daily activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the daily activities of stroke patients participating in rehabilitation. This research is cross-sectional with T-test. The number of samples is 250 people with G-power analysis. This research was conducted at 4 hospitals in Medan city. The instrument in this study is the Barthel Index. The results obtained based on the characteristics of the most dominant data in stroke patients are the age range of 61-70, male sex, income above 2 million rupiahs, self-employment, with rehabilitation for more than 3 months and High School education. Sig value (2-tailed) is 0.000> 0.005, so there is a difference in the daily activities of stroke patients attending rehabilitation at the hospital. This study concludes that the activity of stroke patients is carried out optimally with a minimum level of dependency. Suggestions are expected that in the future stroke patients will further optimize their level of independence in carrying out daily activities.
