Abstract

Students experience difficulties in learning Real Analysis, one of which is the concept of Limit. Difficulties in learning the concept of limits include difficulties in understanding the definition and visualization of the limit concept. The obstacle to thinking of these students is shown by the difficulties of the students above. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with the research subjects are six students of Mathematics Education Study Program at Pancasakti University, Tegal Indonesia. The six students are two high category students, two medium category students, and two low category students. When solving the problem of the Limit concept, students experience problems in thinking due to lack of initial analysis and lack of student analogy skills. When the procedure is checked again, students experience problems in thinking as well, this is due to the lack of student connection skills. To overcome these student difficulties, the lecturer must provide scaffolding.
