The current status of electrical power station systems is discussed in this article. An anal-ysis of high-voltage measuring current transformers is carried out. A comparison of the main parameters, between conventional transformers and optic-fiber is made. It is proved that optic-fiber transformers eliminate the disad-vantages of traditional transformers. The further implementation of optic-fiber current transformers in the electric power industry is analyzed. Keyphrases: external insulation, Faraday’s effect, high voltage, Optoelectronic Sensors, Optoelectronic transformers, Polymer insulator
