Strengthening of Information Technology Competencies of Secondary School Teachers in Polytechnics in the Dominican Republic

Abstract

Introduction: The main objective of the study is to strengthen the competences in the technological processing of the information of the secondary school teachers in the quality of the teaching-learning process in the Polytechnics of the Dominican Republic. Methodology: The focus of this research is the mixed method, since in the collection and analysis of the data quantitative and qualitative techniques are integrated to obtain numerical, verbal, textual, and visual information. The study sample is intentional, with 132 participants, between the ages of 20 and 55, male and female, with a heterogeneous level of education and socio-economic stratum. The instruments to be used are Interviews, workshops, revision of texts and documents, field work, survey. Expected result: Teachers are expected to show more mastery of teaching and learning strategies around the use of informational competences, than to use other forms of planning and evaluating learning, apply the planning scheme established by the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic which saves time when planning teaching. Conclusion: This project will know the achievement achieved and will end up offering recommendations or proposals for change: To the education authorities, the management team, teachers and students.
