Students' Ability to Determine Algabar Function Declaration by Learning Cooperative Models, Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Type

Abstract

The ability of students to determine algebraic function derivatives is still low because the learning used by teachers is still conventional in nature which makes students tend to only focus on the teacher so that students are less motivated in learning mathematics. Based on this, a study was conducted using the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning model to improve students' ability to determine algebraic function derivatives. The study was conducted in class XI MIA Namurambe Nation Smart Private High School 2017/2018 Academic Year. This type of research is a quasi experiment so that the research implementation is designed using the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class is a class that uses NHT type cooperative learning and the control class is a class that uses conventional learning. Data collection tools are initial tests and final tests in the form of a description. Data were analyzed using the two average similarity test. From the results of data analysis, the students' ability to determine algebraic function derivatives using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model with an average value of 70.36 and the ability of students with conventional learning with an average value of 60.93 so that it can be concluded that the ability students determine the algebraic function derivative with the learning model of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type better than the ability of students with conventional learning in class XI MIA Smart Nation Private High School Academic Year 2017/2018.
