The Challenge of Developing Engineering Skills in the Industrial Engineer

Abstract

This paper presents an experience of the use of gamification as a didactic strategy. It was used with students of the Industrial Engineering career of the Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias de la Universidad Nacional del Nordeste to help them develop their competences and skills Educating a student in a subject such as Computer Sciences and Programming in first year of university represents a challenge. The use of strategies that generate a relaxed environment makes the action of studying much more enjoyable. This is observed in the students´ satisfactory results production. when facing the challenges that arise from their training. Thus, the combination of digital technologies and a playful space favours the development not only of the contents of the subject but also the skills and competences that will be used in their professional life.
